What it is

Goregrind is grindcore obsessed with blood and viscera, pairing blasting, lo-fi grind with pitch-shifted, gurgling vocals and lyrics steeped in gore, pathology, and medical horror. England’s Carcass launched it in the late 1980s, famously mining medical textbooks for imagery on records like Reek of Putrefaction. The production is deliberately filthy, the songs short and chaotic, and the whole thing often laced with dark humor. Note: the genre trades in intentionally graphic, grotesque themes.
