Electronicore bolts EDM, trance synths, and electronic breakdowns onto metalcore and post-hardcore, swapping some guitar breakdowns for synth drops and dance builds. It peaked around 2007-2012 with Attack Attack!’s auto-tuned, euphoric take and Enter Shikari’s more adventurous fusion of drum-and-bass and post-hardcore. Expect downtuned riffs and screamed verses colliding with glossy clean choruses and rave-ready electronics. It is metalcore engineered for both the mosh pit and the club.
