Deathgrind

Deathgrind splits the difference between death metal and grindcore, pairing death metal’s heavier riffing and guttural vocals with grind’s blasting speed and short, punishing songs. It coalesced in the 1990s and 2000s through bands like Cattle Decapitation, Brutal Truth, and Misery Index. Tracks are fast, dense, and often politically or misanthropically charged, hitting harder and more concisely than standard death metal. It is extremity distilled.
