What it is

Crossover thrash is where thrash metal and hardcore punk collide, keeping thrash’s fast, palm-muted riffing but stripping songs down to short, punchy, gang-shouted bursts. It emerged in the mid-1980s US, and the name itself comes from D.R.I.’s 1987 album Crossover. Suicidal Tendencies, Nuclear Assault, and the skate-punk scene gave it attitude, humor, and social-political bite. Expect two-minute songs, circle-pit tempos, and a DIY punk spirit.
